For almost 25 years, people have been actively using the internet. It's employed in a variety of industries, including scientific research, communication, social media and entertainment, and internet shopping, among others. It's worth emphasizing that psychology has a theoretical and methodological influence on the internet. The goal of this study is to look at how online data gathering works in psychological studies. Researchers can profit from the internet in the data collection process in a variety of ways. There are a few places where the researcher should use precaution. The audience will be exposed to a variety of features of data collecting via the internet. Digital traces and big data are currently being employed in research in psychology as well as other social science domains. The study's second aim is to establish the topic and provide study examples. Finally, the importance of ethical considerations in online data gathering and large data studies will be highlighted.
