Reviewer Guideline

Thank you for agreeing to review for The Journal of Political Psychology. Peer review is a fundamental component of academic publishing, and your expertise plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and credibility of the journal.

  1. Peer Review Model

The Journal of Political Psychology uses a double-blind peer review system. Both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the review process.

  1. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Evaluate the scientific quality, originality, and relevance of the manuscript.
  • Provide constructive, respectful, and clear feedback.
  • Comment on the clarity of the language, structure, and use of references.
  • Identify ethical concerns such as plagiarism or conflicts of interest.
  • Complete the review within 2 to 4 weeks of receiving the invitation.

If you are unable to complete the review on time, please inform the editorial board as soon as possible.

  1. Confidentiality

All manuscripts received for review are confidential documents. Reviewers must not share or discuss the manuscript with others, and must not use its content for personal advantage.

  1. Ethical Considerations
  • Avoid conflicts of interest with the authors or institutions.
  • Declare if you recognize the author(s) and feel the double-blind process is compromised.
  • Report suspected plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical research.
  1. Review Structure

Reviewers should address the following aspects in their report:

  • Title and abstract: Are they informative and representative?
  • Introduction: Is the research question clearly stated?
  • Methodology: Is it appropriate and well explained?
  • Results: Are they clearly presented and statistically valid?
  • Discussion: Are findings interpreted critically and supported by the data?
  • References: Are they relevant, recent, and correctly formatted?
  1. Final Recommendation

Reviewers should choose one of the following options:

  • Accept
  • Minor revision
  • Major revision
  • Reject

Each recommendation must be supported with a brief justification.
